Bean Soup

Fourth of July Weekend

There are many things going on in our little village, but most important to us anyway is the Bean’s first 4th of July (that she’s aware of anyway). She’s had so much fun we’ve actually had to cut back on some activities today because she’s may have had her limit.

Friday, Clare and her mom Carolyn came over to break in the new playhouse. It was hilarious watching Clare try and boss the Bean around and The Bean going along with it for a while, then suddenly remembering who she was and stealing one of Clare’s toys (A Dora doll ) and running away. Pretend dish washing and making of worm cakes and bug pies even went on.

Yesterday(Saturday) there was a parade, with the High School Band, old timey cars, veterens and yes, a tractor. The Bean mightily enjoyed herself at the parade, waving some flags that were handed out. Then it was park time with Daddy while I got my hair chopped off in preparation for our trip to Fayetteville and our own hot summer. Later in the day we had to trek out to find a car seat for the plane and rental car and toys for the bag of tricks we’ll have to keep her calm while traveling. We also got another huge package from her Grandmama Jackie with some very very pretty dresses we’ll be packing for our trip.

Today we’ll go down to the square after her nap and see what’s going on there and get her her first Ice Cream cone (she’s had ice cream, but lately is quite enamoured of the cone factor). Then at first dark it is time for fireworks. If she’s up to it, we’ll keep her up late and go to the park.
