Emily at her New School This is the Bean on her first day at her new school

We took the Bean to her first day at her new school. Not even a teeny tiny problem. Not one. She hugged her new teacher, shouted “HI” at random kids and immediately jumped in. This is a rather confident, secure child we have. I’m so amazed at her ability to roll with change and see it as an adventure. She woke up this morning early saying “YAY, today I start my new school!” She told me Friday that while it was sad to leave her old school, she’ll see her friends and that her new school is a big girl adventure. That is one impressive Bean.

James took the day off. We both took her to school, then as I teared up, we went to Dickson for breakfast at Common Grounds (our favorite place) and then to the amazing Dickson street bookstore–two buildings worth of used books, stacked to the ceiling. Our idea of heaven.
