No screams on the 13th

So far a most excellent day. We went to the Bean’s tumbling class today and not only was she friendly, she played with things OTHER than the balls and there were no tantrums. She climbed, ran, jumped on a trampoline, built a wall with the giant blocks, knocked over a wall of giant blocks, and played on the teeter totter with a three year old boy. And when we got ready to go, she said bye bye to everyone and there was no screaming. None. no crying. I was blown away.

She ran up to the cool Australian mom and said “You Henry Octopus, You wiggles.” I explained to her about my friend Angela being Australian, how much the bean loves the wiggles and we started talking. And one of the Dads turned out to be a holistic vet too! Not many folks there today, but I got to talk to all of them and play with all the kids. Heh, we both had fun.

And we came home, she ate all her lunch, looked at me and said “upstairs, night night, get linus.”

I’m so proud of all of it. Today is one of those days I’m really happy to be staying home with the Bean. Sometimes it is hard for me. I miss using my giant throbbing brain and I miss the excitement (stress) of solving difficult network issues. Sometimes I do get bored, because so much about being a mother is about routine and repitition. But today, well today is wonderful.
