we are home. The verdict is “The Bean is ‘very bright’ we’ll know more
about how bright as she gets older, but early school (montessori)is an option. There NO developmental issues whatsoever. Nothing is wrong. Every single thing I asked the doctor about is just what kids do at her age (sorting and grouping things, etc)

In the beauty department, of course she’s gorgeous, but she’s also strong, thinning out and very tall for her age. She’s 36 and 1/4 inches tall and 30 lbs.

Her socialization is on track–she’s very normal in how she’s doing things that way (how she deals with other kids, not sharing etc) and way ahead in the brainiac department (ahem, she’s speaking 5 word sentences and read a few numbers, letters and identified some shapes for Dr. Debbie ;-). She is spirited. And her mom is very well read and informed (hee hee). So even though she REALLY didn’t want to get weighed and REALLY didn’t like being in the doc’s office (until Dr. Debbie came, then she was charming –she said “hi” and “This is Henry the Octopus” and ‘That is a scary bunny.’ about the bunny on the scale (she wasn’t scared, she’s learned to use ‘scary’ and ‘sad’ around me when she doesn’t want to do something, she’s already picked up those are the ‘make mommy do what you want’ words). She also got to use the stethescope on Henry and did that quite well, in the same places Dr. Debbie looked at on her.

I really like this doc. She takes time with me and listens to our concerns and is really patient with The Bean. She said Miss Bean reminded her of one of her boys and told me how much fun it can be along with the trying parts. I like that The Bean’s intensity is seen as a plus and not something to be controlled mercilessly. I love the Bean’s energy, even if I get a bit more tired than I might.

All in all, quite nice. We’re proud and relieved and now I need a nap.
